Edit an event

Update tournament details, schedules, venues, and draws after your event is published on TopSeed, and learn which fields lock.

hostAll sportsLast updated October 8, 2026

To update an event after publishing, open your event manage page and click Edit Event. You can modify your tournament title, schedule dates, venues, description, cover image, and draw settings, then click Save to publish your updates.

1. Access the event editor

  1. Go to your event page while signed in with your host account.
  2. In the manage section or overview actions bar, click Edit Event.
  3. You can also make updates through Ask AI: open the assistant on your event and type your requested changes, such as updating tournament start times or adding details to the description.

2. Edit event information and schedule

  • Tournament name. Click the title field to rename your tournament.
  • Dates and deadlines. Click Set a Date to change your tournament start or end dates. If you move your start date earlier, ensure your registration deadline is adjusted so that it concludes before match play begins.
  • Location. Click your location details to add new venues, remove existing locations, or update facility names and addresses.
  • Description. Click Add Description to revise player guidelines, warm-up schedules, check-in rules, or parking information in the rich text editor.
  • Theme and image. Click Set Event Background to change the color palette of your tournament page, or click your event cover to upload a new 16:9 banner image.

3. Modify draws and divisions

You can adjust your competition divisions from the draws section:

  1. Click Edit Draw on any draw card to open its settings.
  2. Update the draw title, adjust max capacity limits, or toggle Accept registrations to temporarily pause new sign-ups.
  3. Click Add Draw if you need to create additional divisions.
  4. To remove a division prior to posting brackets, click Delete (provided no refund or withdrawal operations are currently in flight, and no payouts have been issued for the event). If entrants have already registered, TopSeed displays an impact-preview dialog showing affected players, removes the draw upon confirmation, and triggers automatic card hold releases and entry fee refunds. Note that an event must always retain at least one draw; to remove a tournament's sole division, delete the entire event instead. (Once brackets are posted or live, draw deletion is locked).

4. Understand locked fields

Certain fields lock automatically to protect player registrations and tournament integrity:

  • Format and payment terms. Once a participant registers for a draw, the entrant format (Singles versus Doubles), the Require payment toggle, and the entry fee amount are locked.
  • Competition structures. Once brackets are generated and live, the Competition Type (Single Elimination, Round Robin, Double Elimination, World Cup, or Ladder) and its advanced shape settings lock. To change the structure of a live draw, you must reset draw generation first.

When your changes are complete, click Save in the bottom action bar.
