Refund policy in plain language

Understand TopSeed's deadline-based refund policy for players and hosts, including card hold releases, cancellations, and fees.

allAll sportsLast updated October 8, 2026

This guide outlines TopSeed's refund policy in plain language. For the binding legal terms, see the official Refund Policy.

The rule

Withdraw before the event's registration deadline and you get a full refund, including the platform fee. Withdraw after the deadline and there is no refund. If an event has no registration deadline, the event's start date is the cutoff.

What a refund looks like on your card

When you register, TopSeed places a hold on your card instead of charging it right away. The charge completes at a scheduled time, usually around the registration deadline.

  • If you withdraw while the hold is still in place, we release it. Nothing was charged.
  • If the charge has already completed, we refund it in full to the same card. Banks typically show the refund within 5 to 10 business days.

After the deadline

Once the deadline passes, entry fees are committed to the event so the host can build the draw. No refund is available after the deadline, whether you withdraw yourself or the host removes you, and whether or not the draw has been published.

If the host cancels

If the host cancels the event, or cancels a draw before it has been played, everyone registered in it receives a full refund, including the platform fee, automatically. Draws that have already been completed are not refunded.

Doubles

A doubles registration is one team. If either partner withdraws before the deadline, the team is withdrawn and both partners are refunded under the rule above. After the deadline, neither partner is refunded.

Fees

You are refunded the full amount you paid. If you host an event, card processing costs on refunded payments are not returned by the card networks and are deducted from your proceeds.

Force majeure

If an event cannot take place for reasons outside anyone's control, TopSeed and the host decide refunds case by case.

Questions and disputes

Questions about the event itself go to the host, through the contact option on the event page. If you believe you were wrongly denied a refund, email support@topseed.ai within 30 days of the event with the event link and the email address on your account.

Exceptions

TopSeed may, at its sole discretion, make an exception to this policy in individual cases. An exception in one case does not change the policy for any other.

Frequently asked questions

What is the deadline to receive a refund?
The cutoff is the event's registration deadline. If an event does not specify a registration deadline, the cutoff is the event start date.
How long does a refund take to appear on my card?
Card hold releases take effect almost immediately. Completed refunds typically appear on your card statement within 5 to 10 business days.
Do I get a refund if the host cancels the tournament?
Yes. If a host cancels an event or an unplayed draw, all registered players receive a full refund automatically, including the platform fee.
