Accept or decline a partner invitation
How to review, accept, or decline a doubles partner invitation on TopSeed, understand expiration deadlines, and manage your sent invitations.
When another player invites you to join their doubles team on TopSeed, you receive an invitation email containing a direct link. You can also view and respond to pending invitations from the Invitations tab on the event page.
How to accept an invitation
To accept an invitation and join your teammate:
- Click the link in your invitation email, or navigate to the tournament page and select the Invitations tab.
- Under Invitations Received, find the invitation card. The card displays your partner's name, the doubles division title, the entry fee, and an Invite expires [time] countdown.
- Click Accept & Register.
- Complete your registration: confirm your contact details, provide your doubles rating (such as UTR for tennis or DUPR for pickleball), and complete payment if the draw has an entry fee.
- Once your submission is processed, TopSeed pairs both players into a confirmed doubles team. In a free draw your status becomes Registered. In a paid draw it becomes Payment Pending while the authorization on your card is held, and changes to Registered once TopSeed captures that payment.
How to decline an invitation
If you cannot play or do not wish to team up:
- Locate the invitation card under Invitations Received on the event's Invitations tab.
- Click Decline. The button shows Declining... while your response is recorded.
- The invitation ends immediately, and the entry of the player who invited you is withdrawn. While registration is still open, they can register for the draw again and choose either I have a partner to invite someone else or I need a partner to be matched from the pool.
Revoking an invitation you sent
If you invited a teammate who cannot play or has not responded:
- Open the tournament page and click the Invitations tab.
- Locate the invitation under the Invitations Sent section.
- Click Revoke. The button updates to Revoking... as the invitation is cancelled.
- The invitation ends immediately, and your own entry is withdrawn. While registration is still open, you can register for the draw again and choose either I have a partner to invite a different teammate or I need a partner to be matched from the pool.
Expired invitations and email matching
Every partner invitation has an expiration window. TopSeed sets the deadline at the earliest of the invitation timer, the tournament's registration deadline, or the tournament start date.
- If an invitation expires: The card displays Invitation expired and the Accept & Register button is disabled. You must ask your partner to send a fresh invitation.
- Email matching: Invitations are tied to the email address where they were sent. If you open an invite link while logged into an account with a different email, TopSeed prompts you to sign in with the invited email address to ensure team records remain accurate.
