When a tournament host enables player score reporting, either player or team in a completed match can report the score directly on TopSeed. Once submitted, your opponent receives a notification to review and confirm the result before it becomes official on the bracket.

When you can submit a score

You can submit scores under the following conditions:

  • The tournament is configured for player submission rather than host-only score entry.
  • You are a confirmed participant in the match (or on the playing doubles team).
  • The match is currently active and ready for score reporting on the tournament schedule.

Tournament hosts can enter or override scores at any time, and host entries post directly to the bracket without requiring opponent confirmation.

How to submit your match score

To enter and report your match result:

  1. Open the tournament page on TopSeed and select the Draws or Bracket tab, or locate the match card on your home dashboard.
  2. On your match card, click Enter score.
  3. In the scoring overlay, select the winning player or team.
  4. Enter the set scores for each set played. If a set went to a tiebreak, input the tiebreak points.
  5. If the match ended prematurely, select the completion type:
    • Completed: Standard match finished in regular play.
    • Retired: A player was unable to continue due to injury or illness.
    • Default: A player was disqualified or defaulted.
  6. Verify your scoreline and click the submit button.

What happens after submission

After you submit, the dialog displays Score Submitted with the confirmation: "Sent! Your opponent will review and confirm — the draw updates once they approve." Click Done to close the window.

TopSeed sends an email notification to your opponent with a summary of your submission and a direct link to review it. Once your opponent clicks confirm, the status changes to Score Posted, and the tournament bracket and standings advance the winner to the next round. If your opponent believes the score is incorrect, they can submit a dispute (see Confirm or dispute a score).
