Confirm or dispute a score
How to review a score submitted by your opponent on TopSeed, confirm the result to update the bracket, or submit a dispute with a corrected score.
When your opponent reports a match score in a player-submission event, TopSeed alerts you by email and on your tournament match card. You can review the reported winner and set scores, confirming the result to update the bracket immediately or submitting a dispute if the scoreline is inaccurate.
How to confirm an accurate score
If the score reported by your opponent matches the real match outcome:
- Click the review link in your notification email, or locate the match card on the tournament page.
- The score confirmation card displays who submitted the score, the match winner, the set-by-set scoreline, and the division format.
- Verify that the winner and scoreline are correct.
- Click Confirm.
- The screen updates to Score Confirmed. The result is officially posted to the tournament bracket, and the winning player advances to the next round. Click Done to close.
How to dispute an inaccurate score
If the scoreline or match winner reported by your opponent is wrong:
- Open the score confirmation card from your match card or email notification.
- Click Dispute.
- Under Suggested Resolution, use the scoring form to enter what you believe is the correct match outcome:
- Select the correct winner.
- Enter the actual set scores and any tiebreak points.
- The proposed score must differ from what was originally submitted for the send action to be enabled.
- In the Note to [Opponent Name] field, enter an optional note (up to 250 characters) explaining the discrepancy (for example, clarifying a tiebreak score).
- Click Send.
- The score updates to Score Disputed with the notice that your dispute has been sent for review.
What happens after a dispute is filed
Once a dispute is submitted, the match outcome is paused on the bracket. Your opponent can review your suggested resolution to accept it, or the tournament host can step in to review the match notes and issue an official tournament director override.
